ABOUT CATE
Cate founded STUDIO-C New York in 2016 after working for various private clients at Pepe Lopez Design. Influenced from childhood by two fashion-manufacturing executives who loved to travel and host, Cate turned towards home design. In addition to focusing on her clients' homes, Cate is ever keen to explore the future of design and its evolution.
Studio-C New York has been featured in the UK Financial Times, UK House & Garden Kitchen and Bath, on AD.com and in New England Home Magazine.
We have been recognized as a “Top 50 Coastal Interior Design Firm,” in 2019 and 2020 by Ocean Home Magazine. Smallbone used our co-collaborated kitchen in their 2017-2018 international ad campaign and it continues to be one of their top selling kitchens.
Additionally, Studio-C New York has received seven domestic and international Design Awards to date.
ABOUT GARY
Gary grew up in coastal Southern California, where he established a love for high end design that’s often synonymous with a curated sea-side lifestyle. Trained in architecture, his passions naturally led him to New York City.
Gary began consulting for Studio-C New York in the Spring of 2020, before officially joining as the Director of Interior Architecture in January of 2022. Prior to this, he has held notable positions in widely published firms that include the likes of NICOLEHOLLIS, Fox-Nahem Associates, Groves & Co, and David Kleinberg Design Associates.
These experiences, fostered through an in-depth appreciation for arts, fashion, and design has allowed Gary to develop a diverse yet refined skill set. Useful throughout all project phases while striving to exceed expectations of even the most discerning clients.
ABOUT MATTHEW
Matthew began working with Studio-C New York in 2020. Prior to that, Matthew C. Bemis became an Equity Partner at David Kleinberg Design Associates in 2016. Before joining DKDA in 2012, Matthew worked at the prestigious firms Coffinier Ku Design, Thad Hayes Inc. and Peter Marino Architect. Matthew’s designs highlight a modern, clean aesthetic that evoke tailored, comfortable luxury.
Matthew had a nomadic childhood, moving every few years with his family to different places around the globe: Massachusetts, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, Los Angeles and Maine to name a few. No matter the length of his stay, all of these places influenced his perspective on design. To date, he finds inspiration from art, travel and his clients.
